Professional background

I am a doctoral researcher at Warwick Business School, with a professional background spanning international management education, executive development and management consulting.

In 2000, at a time when European MBA programmes were still relatively little known in Japan, I founded Business-Paradigm in the UK, later expanding the business to Japan. Over the following two decades, Business-Paradigm worked to build the Japanese market for European MBA education, connecting European business schools with Japanese executives and MBA candidates. Its work also extended to the employer side, developing relationships with global companies and helping to increase the visibility of European MBA graduates within the Japanese corporate community.

Many of the MBA graduates I worked with during those years went on to build careers across organisations, sectors and national boundaries. Their subsequent careers eventually brought me back to a question that had remained largely unanswered in my professional work: what happens after the MBA?

Current research

I am now pursuing that question through my doctoral research at Warwick Business School. My research examines how individuals contribute to organisational decision-making beyond formal roles and positions, with particular attention to informal influence, boundary-spanning activity and organisational contribution.
